We understand how important your personal information is to you, and we will do everything we can to keep it secure. We are committed to maintaining your trust, complying with applicable law and our commitments to you, and following the principles of legality, legitimacy, necessity, and good faith in protecting your personal information through appropriate security measures.

This Platform is an information service that connects visitors to China with bilingual young people in China, providing matching and coordination through a mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information, and what rights you have.

Before using any product or service on this Platform, please read and fully understand this Privacy Policy, paying particular attention to the sections in bold. By using this Platform, you confirm that you have fully understood and agree to this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions about this policy, you may contact us using the methods provided in Section 13.

This Privacy Policy is formulated in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law of the People's Republic of China, the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China, the Data Security Law of the People's Republic of China, the Provisions on the Scope of Necessary Personal Information for Common Types of Mobile Internet Applications, and other applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory requirements.

Privacy Policy Summary

For quick reference, here are the key points. Full details are in the sections below.

Who we are: Beijing Yiyiqianyan Technology Co., Ltd., operator of this platform ("Kuashii").

What we collect: only what is necessary for the platform to function — account information, profile details, Local Friend application materials, orders and interactions, device and log data.

Why we collect it: registration and sign-in, identity verification, matching, order processing, service notifications, and security.

Sensitive information: when you apply to become a Local Friend, we collect identity documents and credentials only after obtaining your separate consent.

Who we share with: we do not sell your personal information. We share only what is necessary for matching, required by law, or authorized by you.

Where it is stored: on servers within the People's Republic of China. Information you choose to display publicly may be viewed by visitors located outside China (see Section 5).

Your rights: you may access, copy, correct, supplement, or delete your personal information, close your account, withdraw consent, and file complaints with us.

Minors: this platform serves adults and does not provide services to anyone under 18.

Section 1 Scope and Personal Information Handler

1.1 This Privacy Policy applies to all of your access to and use of this Platform through the mobile application and, in the future, any related websites, mini-programs, or similar channels.

1.2 The personal information handler (data controller) is: 北京一译千言科技有限公司 (Beijing Yiyiqianyan Technology Co., Ltd.), Unified Social Credit Code 91110112MAKEC2U08A, registered in Tongzhou District, Beijing.

1.3 Certain features of this Platform may be provided by third parties (such as payment and SMS verification services that may be integrated in the future). Those third parties bear their own responsibility for the information they collect, and we will explain this in this policy or on the relevant pages.

Section 2 How We Collect and Use Your Personal Information

We collect and use your personal information in the following ways, depending on how you use this Platform. If you do not provide certain information, you may be unable to use the corresponding feature, but this will not affect your use of other features.

2.1 Registration and Sign-in

When you register or sign in, we collect your mobile phone number, email address, and sign-in password (stored encrypted). If you choose to sign in through a third party such as WeChat or Apple, we collect the authorization identifier returned by that platform. Your phone number and email address are used to create your account, verify your identity, recover your password, and send you service notifications.

2.2 Completing Your Profile

To give you a fuller service experience, you may choose to provide your profile photo, display name, gender, date of birth, nationality or region, city of residence, language ability, areas of expertise, and similar profile details. Some of these fields are optional and it is up to you whether to provide them.

2.3 Local Friend Application (only if you apply to become a Local Friend)

When you choose to apply to become a Local Friend, we collect the language certificates, educational or professional credentials, portfolio materials, and similar documents you upload, together with the service types, service rates, and serviceable cities you set, in order to complete our qualification review.

These materials may contain sensitive personal information (see Section 3). We collect them only after obtaining your separate consent, and use them solely for qualification review and service display.

2.4 Browsing and Booking

When you browse Local Friend profiles, place a booking, or handle a booking, we collect your browsing history, booking records, and order details. This Platform requires that all communication before a booking takes place within the Platform. Your in-platform messages, reviews, and feedback are collected and used for matching, fulfilling orders, resolving disputes, and improving service quality.

2.5 Keeping the Service Secure and Running Properly

To protect the security of your account and transactions, detect abnormal or fraudulent activity, and keep the service running reliably, we may collect your device model, operating system version, unique device identifier, IP address, network status, and operation logs.

2.6 Device Permissions

When you use certain features, we will request the corresponding device permissions. You can review and manage these permissions at any time in your device's system settings:

Camera and photo library: used when you upload a profile photo, identity documents, portfolio materials, or review photos — only for files you actively choose and upload.

None of these permissions are enabled by default; they are activated only when you use the related feature and grant permission. Turning a permission off does not affect your use of other features unrelated to it.

2.7 Device Push Identifier

When you allow this App to send you notifications, we collect your device's push identifier (Apple Push Notification service Device Token) in order to send you notifications such as order status changes and service reminders.

This identifier is generated by the operating system and does not contain information that can directly identify you, such as your name or phone number. We do not use it for advertising or commercial marketing. You may turn off notification permissions at any time in your device's system settings; once turned off you will no longer receive push notifications, but this does not affect your ability to view notification messages within the App.

Section 3 About Sensitive Personal Information

Sensitive personal information is personal information that, once leaked or unlawfully used, could readily lead to harm to an individual's dignity or endanger their personal or property safety.

When you apply to become a Local Friend and upload qualification materials, those materials may contain sensitive personal information (such as identity document details). We handle it strictly according to the following principles:

We collect it only after obtaining your separate consent;

We use it solely for clear, specific purposes such as qualification review, identity verification, and service display;

We store and transmit it with stricter security measures;

You may decline to provide it, though you may then be unable to complete the Local Friend review.

Section 4 How We Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

4.1 Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share only the minimum information necessary to achieve the relevant purpose, and only in the following circumstances:

Necessary for matching: to complete a booking and coordinate the service, the information necessary to perform the service (such as display name, language ability, service rates, and city) is shown between the traveler and the Local Friend so that the two can establish a service relationship.

Third-party service providers: if we integrate third-party services such as payment, SMS verification, or cloud storage in the future, we may share with them the information necessary to provide that feature. We will enter into strict data processing agreements with them requiring them to handle information in accordance with this policy and applicable law.

Sharing required by law: as required by laws, regulations, or regulatory authorities, for the resolution of litigation or disputes, or to protect our or our users' lawful rights and interests.

4.2 Transfer

We do not transfer your personal information to any company, organization, or individual, except: with your explicit consent; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or liquidation. If personal information is transferred in such circumstances, we will require the new holder to continue to be bound by this policy, or we will require it to obtain your authorization again.

4.3 Public Disclosure

We publicly disclose your personal information only with your explicit consent or as required by laws, regulations, or regulatory authorities.

Section 5 How We Store Your Personal Information

5.1 Storage location: personal information we collect and generate within the People's Republic of China is stored on servers located within the People's Republic of China.

5.2 Retention period: we retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law. After the retention period expires, we will delete or anonymize your personal information.

5.3 Cross-border scenarios: your personal information is stored on servers within China. Because the nature of this Platform is to connect visitors to China with local Local Friends in China, when you as a Local Friend choose to display your profile publicly on the Platform (such as your display name, profile photo, language ability, and city), that publicly displayed information may be viewed by visitors located outside China. Such viewing arises from your own choice to display the information publicly and is necessary in order to match services to you. Apart from the circumstances described above, we do not provide your personal information to third parties outside China. If, due to business developments, we genuinely need to provide personal information outside China in the future, we will follow the requirements of the Personal Information Protection Law: informing you of the relevant information about the overseas recipient and the purposes of processing, obtaining your separate consent, and completing the required legal procedures including a personal information protection impact assessment.

Section 6 How We Protect Your Personal Information

6.1 We take technical and organizational measures that meet industry standards to protect your personal information, including but not limited to encryption of data in transit, access controls, and encrypted storage of account passwords, in order to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, use, modification, or damage.

6.2 We maintain internal data management procedures and apply the principle of least privilege to personnel who may have access to your personal information.

6.3 Please understand that no internet environment is one hundred percent secure. We will do our utmost to ensure information security. In the unfortunate event of a personal information security incident, we will notify you and report to the relevant regulatory authorities promptly in accordance with laws and regulations.

6.4 Please keep your account and password information safe and do not disclose them to any third party.

Section 7 Your Rights

In accordance with applicable Chinese laws and regulations, we protect your ability to exercise the following rights over your personal information:

Access and copy: you have the right to access and copy your personal information, except as otherwise provided by laws and regulations.

Correction and supplementation: if you find that the personal information we handle is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request correction or supplementation.

Deletion: where permitted by law (for example, the purpose of processing has been achieved, you withdraw consent, or we have processed the information unlawfully), you have the right to request deletion of your personal information.

Withdrawal of consent: you have the right to change or withdraw the consent you previously gave us to process your personal information. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out on the basis of your consent before withdrawal.

Account closure: you have the right to close your account. After closure, we will stop providing you with products and services and will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with the law.

Explanation: you have the right to request that we explain our personal information handling rules.

You may exercise these rights through the relevant features within this App or by contacting us using the methods provided in Section 13. We will respond promptly within a reasonable period.

Account closure: you may apply to close your Kuashii account in either of the following ways:

(1) In-app: go to Me — Settings — Account security — Delete account, and follow the prompts to complete the closure;

(2) By email: send a closure request to hello@kuashii.com and cooperate with us to complete identity verification.

Before closing your account, please note: you should ensure there are no orders in progress or settlements outstanding under the account; after closure, the account cannot be signed into or restored, and the personal information, order records, reviews, and other information under it will be deleted or anonymized (except where retention is required by laws and regulations); closure is irreversible, so please proceed with care.

We will complete the closure within a reasonable period after receiving your request and verifying your identity.

10.2 If you are under 18, please do not register for or use this Platform, and please do not provide us with any personal information.

10.3 If we discover that we have collected personal information from a minor without prior guardian consent, we will delete that information as soon as possible. Guardians who become aware of such circumstances may contact us using the methods in Section 13.

Section 11 Updates to This Privacy Policy
